ANDREW G. CANGEMI
Andy Cangemi, a partner in the firm, learned the business of real estate litigation from the ground up. Starting in the Nassau County Attorney’s office, he developed an expertise in property valuation for both certiorari and eminent domain purposes. As a result of almost three decades of experience in the field, Mr. Cangemi has dealt with almost every conceivable issue connected to property valuation. This background has translated into extensive trial experience concerning the most complicated issues involving varying property types.
Among the types of properties resolved successfully are apartments, cooperatives, condominiums, industrial, beach clubs, golf courses and shopping centers.
Mr. Cangemi has utilized his experience and background to extend into the related areas of zoning and land use.
He is a past Chairman of the Nassau County Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Committee; former member of the Nassau County Judicial Advisory Council; past President of the Nassau County chapter of the Boy Scouts of America; past President for Advancement of Commerce and Industry; current Chairman of the Village of Northport Board of Zoning Appeals and past and frequent lecturer for both the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations.
Mr. Cangemi was born in Brooklyn, New York and is a graduate of Adelphi University and the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is admitted to both the New York State and Federal courts.
